A private transfer into the Albanian Alps — to Valbona valley via Shkodër and the Koman Lake ferry, or the mountain road. The other end of the famous Theth–Valbona hike. Flight tracking included. Operated by ATHS, 30+ years in Albanian travel.
Valbona (Valbonë) is a glacial valley in the far north-east of the Albanian Alps — wide meadows, a braided river and the pyramid peaks of the Accursed Mountains. Together with Theth, it is the heart of Albania's best hiking, linked by the celebrated Theth–Valbona trail.
Getting there from Tirana International Airport (TIA) is part of the adventure. The classic route runs up to Shkodër, then to the Koman Lake ferry — one of the most beautiful boat rides in the Balkans — and up the valley from Fierzë. There is also a longer all-road route via Kukës. We arrange either, including timing the ferry. Allow the best part of a day; Valbona is a destination you settle into, not a quick hop.
ATHS — Albanian Travel and Hospitality Services was founded in 1993, when Albania first reopened to international travel. We are the same group behind aths-travel.com, plazh.com, atavac.com and krociere.com. After 30+ years and several hundred thousand transfers, your driver takes you to the right address the first time.
You don't haggle with a stranger outside arrivals. The quote you confirm at booking is the price you pay — no extra charge for luggage, child seats, late flights, or paying by card.

Valbona is for walkers and for slowing down. Pair it with Theth for the classic Alps loop, based out of Shkodër.
Two ways: the scenic route via Shkodër and the Koman Lake ferry to Fierzë, then up the valley; or a longer all-road route via Kukës. We arrange either and time the ferry for you. Plan on most of a day.
Yes. We drop hikers in Theth, and collect them from Valbona after the Theth–Valbona trail — or arrange the Koman ferry leg back to Shkodër.
Not directly. Reaching Valbona by public transport means going into Tirana, on to Shkodër, then a furgon to the Koman ferry and another vehicle up the valley — a long, multi-change day. A private transfer handles the whole chain, ferry included.
Pricing depends on the route (ferry or all-road), the vehicle and the date. Use the booking form above for an instant quote, or tell us your itinerary for a combined price.
Yes. Book both legs together for one combined invoice and a single confirmation.
