Private transfer from TIA to the Rugova Gorge — about 185 km via the A1, the Morina border and Pejë, roughly 2½–3 hours. Door-to-door to your mountain hotel in the Accursed Mountains. Flight tracking included. Operated by ATHS, 30+ years in Balkan travel.
The Rugova Gorge (Rugovë) is Kosovo's dramatic mountain canyon west of Pejë (Peja), carved into the Accursed Mountains (Bjeshkët e Nemuna) — a base for hiking, via ferrata, the Peaks of the Balkans trail and winter snow. It lies about 185 kilometres from Tirana International Airport (TIA / Nënë Tereza): the fast A1 "Nation's Highway" through Kukës, across the Morina border, then via Gjakovë to Pejë and up the valley.
Plan for roughly 2½ to 3 hours including the border crossing — the last stretch is a slow, scenic mountain road, so a driver who knows it makes the difference. Bring a valid passport or ID card for the border. Rugova is best from late spring to autumn for hiking and again in winter for snow; contact us before booking in the deep off-season. Night and early departures are available at no extra charge.

Rugova is for the outdoors: canyon walks, cable-car views, via ferrata and long alpine hikes, with Pejë and its UNESCO monastery at the mouth of the valley.
Rugova is about 185 km from Tirana Airport (TIA) by road — the A1 "Nation's Highway" through Kukës, the Morina border, then via Gjakovë to Pejë and up the valley. As of 2026 the driving time is roughly 2½ to 3 hours, including the border crossing.
Yes. The route crosses from Albania into Kosovo, so bring a valid passport or national ID card. Our drivers know the Morina crossing; waiting time is usually short.
The A1 to Pejë is a fast motorway; the final climb up the gorge is a slower mountain road with tunnels and bends, taken carefully. Our drivers know it well. For deep winter or snow, a 4x4 is recommended — ask us when booking.
Pricing depends on the vehicle and the date/time of pickup. Use the booking form above for an instant quote — no extras for luggage or hiking packs. The cross-border fee is included.
