Almost every trip to Albania starts at Tirana International Airport (TIA). How far you get depends on your days. Here are four realistic itineraries — from a long weekend to two weeks — and how to link them by private transfer.
3–4 days: beaches near the airport
Short on time? Stay on the central coast, an hour or less from the airport. Base yourself at Lalzit Bay or Durrës for sand and sea, with a day in Tirana. No long drives, maximum beach — see our guide to the best beaches near Tirana Airport.
5–7 days: the Albanian Riviera
A week is enough to reach the famous south. Head down to Saranda and Ksamil — the "Albanian Maldives" — with a stop at Dhërmi or Himara on the way. Not sure which town? Read which Riviera town is right for you.
7–10 days: culture + coast
Add the UNESCO stone cities to a Riviera trip: airport → Berat → Gjirokastër → the Blue Eye → Saranda and Ksamil. It's one clean line down the country. More on the two cities in our UNESCO Albania guide.
10–14 days: mountains + everything
With two weeks, add the north. Start in the Albanian Alps at Theth (via Shkodër) for the Theth–Valbona hike, then swing south for the UNESCO towns and finish on the Riviera. It's the full sweep of the country — mountains, history and the best beaches — bookended by the airport.
